The incidence of ARVI in the Kyiv region increased by 14.7%
28 January 2025According to the latest data, during week 4 of 2025 (20-26 January), 10,667 residents of Kyiv region fell ill with acute respiratory infections, including 5,798 children under 17 (54.4%); the intensity rate is 596.2 per 100,000 population, which is 30.6% below the epidemic threshold (858.8). The incidence increased by 14.7% compared to the previous week.
The number of people hospitalised for acute respiratory infections, including COVID-19, increased by 29.3% to 173 people, including 111 children under 17 (64.2%).
Deaths from complications flu, COVID-19 and other ARVIs were not registered during the reporting week.
Since the beginning of the epidemic season (01.10.2024), the virology laboratory of the Kyiv CDC has tested biomaterial samples from 1,127 patients by polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
Respiratory viruses were identified in 166 cases:
- SARS-CoV-2 - 121;
- influenza A not subtyped - 8;
- Influenza B - 3;
- Rhinoviruses - 12;
- adenoviruses - 11;
- Coronavirus - 7;
- parainfluenza - 3;
- metapneumovirus - 1.
In week 4 of 2025, 14 people were vaccinated against influenza, including 5 children aged 6 months to 5 years. Since the beginning of the epidemic season, 5,147 people have been vaccinated against influenza in Kyiv region.
