The incidence of ARVI in the Kyiv region decreased by 9.3%
18 March 2025According to the latest data, during week 11 of 2025 (10-16 March), 25,172 residents of Kyiv Oblast fell ill with acute respiratory infections, including 13,118 children under 17 (52.1%); the intensity rate is 1,420.8 per 100,000 population, which is 65.4% above the epidemic threshold (858.8). Compared to previous week The incidence rate decreased by 9.3%.
The highest incidence rates of influenza and other ARI are in Obukhiv (1,467.0 per 100,000 population), Boryspil (1,461.4), Bila Tserkva (1,460.9) and Fastiv (1,438.3) districts.
The number of people hospitalised for acute respiratory infections, including COVID-19, is 379 (the same as last week), including 218 children under 17 (57.5%).
Deaths from complications flu, COVID-19 and other ARVIs were not registered during the reporting week.

Since the beginning of the epidemic season (01.10.2024), the virology laboratory of the Kyiv CDC has tested biomaterial from 2,025 patients. In 375 cases (18.5%), viruses of the respiratory group were identified:
- SARS-CoV-2 - 158;
- influenza A not subtyped - 53;
- influenza A(H1)pdm09 - 25;
- Influenza A(H3) - 8;
- Influenza B - 70;
- Rhinoviruses - 19;
- adenoviruses - 16;
- MS virus - 15;
- Coronavirus - 7;
- parainfluenza - 3;
- metapneumovirus- 1.
Also within the framework of the monitoring of infectious agents in domestic wastewater 103 samples have been tested since 01.10.2024: 10 samples contained SARS-CoV-2 RNA and 1 sample contained influenza virus RNA.
In week 11 of 2025, 42 people were vaccinated against influenza:
- 9 - people with chronic diseases (respiratory and cardiovascular systems, kidneys, metabolism);
- 6 - people over 65 years of age;
- 2 - children aged 6 months to 5 years;
- 25 - other.
Since the beginning of the epidemic season, 5,841 people have been vaccinated against influenza in Kyiv region.
As of 14.03.2024, the educational process was suspended in 38 secondary education institutions and 1 preschool.
