The incidence of ARVI in the Kyiv region decreased by 21.4%

According to the latest data, during week 13 of 2025 (24-30 March), 16,326 residents of Kyiv Oblast fell ill with acute respiratory infections, including 8,630 children under 17 (52.9%); the intensity rate is 921.5 per 100,000 population, which is 7.3% higher than the epidemic threshold (858.8). Compared to previous week The incidence rate decreased by 21.4%.

The highest incidence rates of influenza and other ARI are in Boryspil (1,098.9 per 100,000 population) and Bila Tserkva (983.5) districts.

The number of people hospitalised for acute respiratory infections, including COVID-19, decreased by 29.7% to 215 people, including 126 children under 17 (58.6%).

Deaths from complications flu, COVID-19 and other ARVIs were not registered during the reporting week.

Since the beginning of the epidemic season (01.10.2024), the virology laboratory of the Kyiv CDC has examined biomaterial from 2,351 patients. Respiratory viruses were detected in 420 samples (17.9%):

  • SARS-CoV-2 - 158;
  • influenza A not subtyped - 67;
  • influenza A(H1)pdm09 - 25;
  • Influenza A(H3) - 8;
  • Influenza B - 87;
  • MS virus - 25;
  • Rhinoviruses - 21;
  • adenoviruses - 18;
  • Coronavirus - 7;
  • parainfluenza - 3;
  • metapneumovirus- 1.

Also within the framework of the monitoring of infectious agents in domestic wastewater since 01.10.2024, 109 samples have been tested: 10 samples contained SARS-CoV-2 RNA, 1 sample contained influenza virus RNA.

In week 13 of 2025, 41 people were vaccinated against influenza:

  • 1 - a person with chronic diseases (respiratory and cardiovascular systems, kidneys, metabolism);
  • 6 - people over 65 years of age;
  • 4 - staff of medical institutions;
  • 30 are other.

Since the beginning of the epidemic season, 5,930 people have been vaccinated against influenza in Kyiv region.

As of 28.03.2024, the educational process was suspended in 1 preschool education institution.
