On May 10, 2024, specialists of the Kyiv Centralized Center for Chemical Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health conducted a training session (training) to develop an algorithm of actions in case of detection of a case of cholera or suspected cholera in the Kyiv region.

The purpose of the training is to improve and strengthen the knowledge and practical skills of the Kyiv CDC of the Ministry of Health on the organisation of measures and interaction in case of detection of a case or suspected case of cholera in the Kyiv region.

During the training, the specialists of the Kyiv Oblast Center for Cholera Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health (the lead institution) worked out the algorithm of actions of the specialists of the Kyiv Oblast Center for Cholera Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health (the lead institution) in case of detection of a case or suspected case of cholera in the region, the scheme of notification and gathering of rapid response teams during working and non-working hours, organisation of anti-epidemic measures and disinfection activities in the cholera focus, organisation and informing the media and the public about the cholera epidemic situation, as well as developing rules for the selection and delivery of material samples from patients, contact persons and environmental objects for testing.
