The epidemic situation with regard to the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) in the Kyiv region for week 48 of 2024.
2 December 2024According to the latest data, 11,249 people fell ill with SARS and influenza in the Kyiv region in the 48th week of 2024 (25.11 - 01.12.2024), with an intensity rate of 628.7 per 100 thousand people, which is 26.81 TP3T below the epidemic threshold (858.8). Compared to the previous 47 weeks, the incidence decreased by 2.0%.
During the week, 6,400 children under the age of 17 fell ill, which is 56.91% of the total number of cases.
The number of people hospitalised for acute respiratory infections, including COVID-19, increased by 6.3% compared to the previous week and amounted to 119 people (week 47 - 112 people), including 67 children under 17 (56.3% of the total number of hospitalised).
No fatalities from complications of influenza and ARVI, COVID-19 were reported during the reporting week.
Since the beginning of the epidemic season, the virological laboratory of the Kyiv CDC of the Ministry of Health has tested biomaterial samples from 738 patients by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), with SARS-CoV-2 viruses dominating among the positive laboratory results - in 92 cases (13.1%), and respiratory viruses (11 rhinoviruses, 7 coronaviruses, 1 adenovirus).
In week 48, 217 people were vaccinated against influenza, 151 of whom belong to risk groups (65 people with chronic diseases (respiratory and cardiovascular systems, kidneys, metabolism), 14 people over 65, 64 children aged 6 months to 5 years, 7 healthcare workers, 1 pregnant woman), and 66 other people.
Since the beginning of the epidemic season, a total of 4397 people have been vaccinated against influenza in the Kyiv region.
