24 July - International Day of Self-Care

Self-care is a set of actions aimed at maintaining and improving physical, mental and emotional health. It includes meeting your own needs, setting boundaries, recognising and managing emotions, and taking time for rest and relaxation on a regular basis.

Self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity that allows people to live a more balanced, happy and healthy life.

Top tips for maintaining and improving physical, mental and emotional health:

- Eat rightThat is, consume enough proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals per day;

- stop drinking alcohol and tobacco;

- ensure that you get healthy sleep, which lasts 7-9 hours a day. You should go to bed and wake up at the same time. Regular sleep deprivation increases the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, as well as obesity, immune system disorders, mental health, etc;

- Regular physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day will make you feel better and significantly improve your health. Choose the type of physical activity that is comfortable for you;

- take care of your own psycho-emotional state and quality rest;

- get vaccinated in accordance with the National Vaccination Schedule, including against COVID-19.

On this World Health Day, we would like to remind you of three simple rules that will help you take care of yourself and significantly improve the quality of your life. Take care of yourself, take care of those around you, be kind to yourself and to them. This is the only way we can save ourselves and each other and rebuild our country after the victory.
