Activities

In accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 1614 dated 03.08.2021 "On the organisation of infection prevention and infection control in healthcare facilities and institutions / facilities providing social services / social protection of the population", hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) are subject to accounting and registration in the above structures.

Annex 1 "The Procedure for Epidemiological Surveillance and Record Keeping of Infectious Diseases Associated with the Provision of Medical Care" sets out the procedure for epidemiological surveillance of infectious diseases associated with the provision of medical care (hereinafter referred to as IDC), and provides for the registration of IDC at the level of healthcare facilities. At the regional and state levels, the introduction of sentinel epidemiological surveillance is envisaged.

The priorities of the CPC are:

1. Implementation of the Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 1614 dated 03.08.2021 "On the organisation of infection prevention and infection control in healthcare facilities and institutions / institutions providing social services / social protection of the population".
2. Conducting advisory, organisational and methodological work on the implementation of Order No. 1614 in healthcare facilities, namely drafting:

• the procedure for conducting epidemiological surveillance and keeping records of infectious diseases related to the provision of medical care;
• the procedure for the prevention of infectious diseases associated with the provision of medical care in healthcare facilities that provide inpatient care;
• guidelines for implementing hand hygiene improvement in healthcare facilities and social service/social protection institutions;
• instructions for the implementation of the administration of antimicrobials in healthcare facilities providing inpatient care.
